Movie Night

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handy work” (Psalm 19:1). Those that joined us this past Sunday have a deeper appreciation of the psalmist’s words after watching Indescribable (43 minutes), a part of New Morning Church’s Movie Night.

Movie Night, loganwolf.net

Candy and fresh popcorn were provided to those in attendance as we watched “an image-rich journey through the cosmos, allowing us to peer into God’s universe to discover the amazing magnitude of His greatness.”

A brief intermission was followed by Noah’s Ark: Thinking Outside the Box (25 minutes). This short documentary served as an introduction to the subject of Noah, which I’ll be preaching on later in March in conjunction with the release of Russell Crowe’s film.

Though this isn’t the first time we’ve screened a movie at New Morning, it is the first time we have made it an official event, promoting it in our monthly email blast, new movers letters, and on social media, as well as having invitations printed for us to distribute ahead of time. The additional work and prayers brought us out of a frustrating attendance slump and I was thrilled to have six first time guests join us! This is an event I hope to develop and do again in the future.

Which movie was your favorite? What titles or subjects would you like featured as part of future Movie Nights?
